Hey sis! Welcome to the Exodus Companion Library, your companion resource designed to help you study the book of Exodus in context and discover the incredible story of God's redemption, deliverance, and covenant with His people. Whether you're using the Bible Study Corner™ Guided Bible Companion, studying on your own, or teaching others, you'll find tools here to help you dig deeper into God's Word with confidence.
This page is filled with carefully selected resources to help you understand not only what Exodus says, but why it matters. As you follow Israel from slavery in Egypt to the foot of Mount Sinai, you'll see God's power on display through the plagues, the Passover, the parting of the Red Sea, and His presence in the tabernacle. Most importantly, you'll discover how every chapter points forward to Jesus Christ- our greater Passover Lamb, our greater Moses, and the One who delivers us from the slavery of sin.
My prayer is that these resources encourage you to slow down, open your Bible, and experience the faithfulness of God in a deeper way. Exodus isn't simply the story of Israel leaving Egypt; it's the story of a God who rescues, dwells with His people, and keeps every promise He makes.

But First... Pray
Prayer Before Studying Exodus
Heavenly Father,
As I open the book of Exodus, I ask You to open my heart and my mind to Your truth. Thank You for preserving Your Word so that I can know You more deeply and understand Your character.
As I read, help me see more than the story of Israel's journey. Show me Your power to deliver, Your faithfulness to keep every promise, and Your desire to dwell among Your people. Teach me to trust You even when the path ahead seems uncertain, remembering that You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way.
Reveal the ways this book points to Jesus—our perfect Passover Lamb, our greater Deliverer, and the One who has set us free from the slavery of sin. Give me wisdom to understand the Scriptures in their proper context and a humble heart that is willing to be changed by what I learn.
Help me not to rush through these pages, but to slow down, ask good questions, and delight in discovering the richness of Your Word. May this study deepen my faith, strengthen my obedience, and draw me into a closer relationship with You.
Thank You for Your grace, Your presence, and Your unfailing love. May everything I learn lead me to worship You more fully and to live in a way that reflects Your glory.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Start Here
Before diving into Genesis, I encourage you to watch the BibleProject overview of the book. In just a few minutes, you'll gain a big-picture understanding of Genesis—its structure, major themes, historical setting, and how it fits into God's plan of redemption. Watching the overview first will help you read the book with greater confidence and recognize important connections as you work through your Bible Study Corner™ Guided Bible Companion.
Once you've finished the video, open your Bible, and begin reading Genesis. Then come back here to explore the companion resources, maps, timelines, and bonus study tools designed to help you dig even deeper into God's Word.
Begin Reading
Now that you've watched the overview, it's time to dive into God's Word. Before exploring the additional resources below, we are going to start reading the book of Genesis in your Bible. Resist the urge to rush ahead or rely on study notes. Spend time observing the text for yourself, asking questions, and noticing repeated themes, promises, and patterns.
Start by opening the free commentary linked below, or use a commentary of your choice. As you read, remember that Genesis is more than a collection of familiar stories. It is the foundation of the entire Bible, introducing God's character, humanity's need for a Savior, and the beginning of His redemptive plan that culminates in Jesus Christ.
I personally take notes from the commentary that I feel are important to remember.
Take your time, pray as you read, and allow Scripture to speak before turning to outside resources.
